Bob Gordon - South Australian Sharpie sailor.

(the below info is as remembered by Bob's wife (Zelda) and son Colin.
PS: Don't forget that these events occurred over 60 years ago).
Thanks Colin and please pass on my thanks to your mum (Zelda).

Bob heading to Hobart. 1955-56.

1959 Bob at Kestral IV's christening.

Bob sailed with 'Chippy' Barclay in the late 50s and early 60s, as his mainhand
on Chippy's Heavyweight Sharpie - "George Ross" and Lightweight Sharpie - "Kestral IV".
and in 1963/64 with Bob Appleby in "Waituna IV".

"My father passed away last year (2022) and unbeknown to me, he had kept a scrapbook of programs, photos and newspaper articles from his sailing days, particularly national championships on heavyweights then lightweights from 1950's until early 60's. It is all at my mothers so might be best if we touch base when I am there so that we can chat around the content. At the moment Im trying to stop my mother from chucking most of it".

Thank God, Colin got the scrapbook before his mum could dispose of it and we are all the better for it.
The scrapbook contained the following Heavyweight and Lightweight programmes, plus Seacraft mags and newspaper articles.

Bob's HWS Programmes.
1954-55 SA, 1955-56 Tas, 1956-57 Vic, 1958-59 WA.

Bob's LWS Programmes.
