Some GoPro footage from Smoke of yesterday's first invitation race of the 82nd Australian Sharpie Championships being held at Port Lincoln. For those of you that may be confused, Derek Milligan is skipping Smoke with Michael upfront as regular crew Simon dislocated his shoulder a month ago so unable to attend the event. 73 boats competing at the nationals with boats from all States except NT as there are no Sharpies sailing there that we are aware of. Capsize around the top mark is NSW boat Truck who appear to be hit by a gust as they set their kite.

Made it to South Australia this morning on the way to Port Lincoln later today.
And we know we are on the right path as they put out Sharpie signs so we don’t get lost.

Crews gather today to kick off the 2025 Sharpie National Championship hosted by Port Lincoln YC. The field is packed, with 67 entries from across Australia lined up to take the charge, with wind conditions meaning for some serious action.

There’s a rumble coming as the penultimate day of racing comes to a close at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club. Lighter winds made for a shakeup and the leaderboard has shuffled as we head into the final two races tomorrow.

Today marks the end of the 2025/26 Australian Sharpie Nationals here in Port Lincoln with Luke Stephen's Exposed taking home the Championship. With little to no wind today the two scheduled heats were cancelled, and the results from yesterday hold firm.
Big thanks to the @portlincolnyachtclub for hosting this massive event which has drawn sailors from all across Australia. It has been one to remember.

What a night at the Calcutta! The Sharpie Nationals crowd turned up in force at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club. After a tense two hour wait before the final two races, the last horn finally sounded. Beers, cheers and champagne sprays followed as the team soaked it all in, with rivals lining up to share handshakes and hugs. Sharpie racing at its absolute best at Port Lincoln Yacht Club 🏆🍻

Ten races down and then a long two hour wait as the breeze shut off on the final leg. Margins were razor thin between Disco Stu, ShouldaCouldaWoulda and Trickster as the Sharpie Nationals came down to patience, nerves and every last puff. With no racing on Day 7, Exposed 946 secured the championship on their results through Day 6.

Recently crowned Australian Sharpie Champions Luke Stephens, Matt Hansen and Ryan Kelly on SA946 Exposed will feature on the front page of tomorrow’s Port Lincoln Times – the local paper Luke and Ryan grew up reading as kids! The 82nd Australian Sharpie Nationals wrapped up yesterday in Port Lincoln, with Exposed securing the title in a close finish.
Huge thanks again to the Port Lincoln Yacht Club for hosting a massive carnival that brought so many of the Sharpie family together. One to remember.

The 82nd Australian Sharpie Nationals wrapped in style at Port Lincoln’s Nautilus Theatre last night with a brilliant presentation evening.
Luke Stephens, Matt Hansen and Ryan Kelly on SA946 Exposed were crowned champions, with all other category awards, competitors and volunteers recognised across the room.
True Sharpie spirit was on show with laughs, cheers, cold drinks, great food and a community celebrating not just the winners, but everyone involved in this year’s carnival.
