3rd August 2026 - Stuie Fahey contacted me regarding a copy of the "Signature Poster".
I thought that I had already posted it to our Sharpie website, but I couldn't find it on the website but I did find Donnie Shields' info regarding the history of the "Signature Poster".

This is a very historical poster, as it is nearly 66years old, most of the sailors who signed it have since "gone to the big Sharpie regatta in the sky".

Below is what Donnie sent me, back on 18th May 2020. Donnie was one of the signatories and is currently enjoying himself with his mates at "the big Sharpie regatta in the sky".

While at the 1960-61 Hobart Titles involving both the Heavyweight and Lightweight Sharpies, 'Nicky' Nibbs decided to create this poster and get as many of the competitors to sign it.

Donnie got a copy of the poster and the plan was to give a copy to each of the Victorian entries competing in either a Heavyweight or Lightweight Sharpie.

But the poster was 'stored' in Donnie's spare (junk) room and went missing or forgotten about for many years. When Donnie found it in his 'junk' room a few years ago, Keith Frost aka Dad had retired from sailing and on the odd occasion that Donnie and Dad got together, the poster was never mentioned UNTIL I started my project of gathering historical Sharpie info.

This jolted Donnie's memory and now I am the proud owner of Dad's copy of the poster (I bought a frame for it, to keep it from ripping). Dad did manage to see the "signature poster" when he visited me and was quite emotional.

I would like to thank Donnie(Rest In Peace) for posting me a copy back in May 2020 and to Stuie for prompting me to search for the poster which led to the creation of this webpage.
