Day 90 - Thursday 20th July 2017.

A relaxing day - Dicky Beach Day 2.

I slept like a log last night, and didn't wake until near 7:30am, very rare for me, Marg woke a few minutes later. We laid in bed watching Kochie, eventually getting up about 8:15am.
I turned into 'cycleman' and headed off to the Lighthouse at Mooloolaba. I stopped at various places to take photos. I even saw the boat that ran aground off Mooloolaba. I stopped a woman walking her dog. It was a beautiful 4 months old yellow labrador, he was absolutely beautiful, just like our Lazza. My normal route is approx 32kms, but I would like to ride about 45kms, which means that I have to ride some sections of it, twice, BUT not today maybe tomorrow, if the gale dies down.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 34.2kms gives me a total of 34.2kms at Dicky and 1,101.24kms on the Gold Coast, giving me a total of 1,135.6kms so far in Qld.

Back at camp, I showered, dressed and Marg and I drove over to Currimundi to have a coffee and donuts at Donut King. We parked and Marg can't pass a Reject Shop without going in, SO we did. Went to where Donut King was last year and it ain't there. We had coffee and a muffin at Muffin Break, that will be our new coffee place. We did a small shop at Woollies.

Back at camp, we had lunch and while Marg laid in bed reading, she lasted about an hour before the 'nanna nap bug' caught her and she nodded off. I filled in my time by playing on my laptop.

Marg made nachos and they were yumma.

Tomorrow, we plan to walk over to the Dicky Beach village shops and I hope to ride about late morning, as it is meant to be BLOODY COLD tonight dropping to 6°.

My normal ride of approx 32kms.

Day 91 - Friday 21st July 2017.

A relaxing day - Dicky Beach Day 3.

The forecast minimum for last night was 6°, consequently, I broke out my sleeping bag.

I slept like a log again, and woke about 6:30am, Marg awoke a few minutes later and we laid in bed, watching Kochie. I arose about 7:30am, but was staggered to find it was not that cold.
I had brekky and turned into 'cycleman' and headed off to the Lighthouse at Mooloolaba. Similar to yesterday, I stopped at various places to take photos. At the Lighthouse, I spoke to a guy that has just moved from Sydney to Mooloolaba, he said that I just missed a pod of dolphins swim by. I immediately told him that last year I photoed a whale about 100 meters offshore. The Matahari spanner crab vessel is slowly being dismantled. From news reports they will cut it up into manageable pieces and remove it.
I kept my eyes open for yesterday's 4 months old yellow labrador, but to no avail. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. It was a glorious day riding, bright warm sunshine and a light breeze.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 33.7kms was ride#2 and gives me a total of 67.9kms at Dicky and 1,101.24kms on the Gold Coast, giving me a total of 1,169.3kms so far in Qld.

Back at camp, I showered, dressed and Marg and I drove over to Kawana Waters Shopping Centre. We had a coffee and donuts at Donut King, before going to The Reject Shop, we looked for a Kmart but to no avail, so we drove into Caloundra KMart and couldn't find some 'furry jacket' that Marg has bought, but now wants the pink one. Go figure. Anyway, they didn't have any. We then drove to the RACQ shop in the main street of Caloundra and bought tickets to Aus Zoo. We finally got back to camp and had lunch, before we realised it, it was after 2pm. It was time for Marg to go to bed and read, she lasted at least an hour before the 'nanna nap bug' got her. As usual, I buggered about on my laptop, a very boring couple.

Dinner was Chicken Parmi made by 'On the Menu - Pub Favourites'.

We are now getting into a routine. (I do love routines) In the morning, I go for a ride, while Marg does whatever she wants to do. Late morning, we drive somewhere, drink coffee and usually eat donuts and then in the arvo, we do 'Sweet FA' or less.
Boy, Life is tough.

10:31am - Back at Coondibah Creek about a kilometer from home.

Day 92 - Saturday 22nd July 2017.

A relaxing day - Dicky Beach Day 4.

I slept like a log again, and woke about 6:30am, Marg slept until 8:30am. We had changed our routine to go for a coffee across the road at downtown Dicky Beach, then go for a walk along the beach, have lunch and then have 'me' time, where we will do whatever want to do, I will ride.

About 10:30am, we walked over the road to "Reelax at Dicky", the woman who owned it last year has sold and moved on. We had a coffee and read the newspapers on our iPads. After finishing, we walked to the beach and along the sand for about 500 meters to the rocky outcrop. We found a comfortable rock to sit on and watch the world go by. The Coral sea was beautiful and blue. We wondered back to camp and had lunch.

Marg went and laid on the bed and read, while I turned into 'cycleman' and headed off to the Lighthouse at Mooloolaba. Similar to yesterday, I stopped at various places to take photos. At the Spit or mouth of the river, I couldn't believe my eyes, the "Matahari" has been completely removed and you cannot see where it had been. A great removal job by Claytons. I kept my eyes open for the 4 month old lab, but to no avail. It was another glorious day for riding, bright warm sunshine and a light breeze.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 34.1kms was ride#3 and gives me a total of 102.0kms at Dicky and 1,101.24kms on the Gold Coast, giving me a total of 1,203.3kms so far in Qld.

Back at camp, I showered, and buggered about on my laptop, while Marg had succumbed to that extremely infectious disease "nanna nap bug".

Dinner was raviolli, very yumma.

Tomorrow, we plan to do very similar to today's activities.

A credit to Claytons.

2:08pm - Back at Coondibah Creek nearly home.

Day 93 - Sunday 23rd July 2017.

A relaxing day - Dicky Beach Day 5.

I slept like a log again, and woke about 6:00am, and laid in bed listening to Macca. Marg slept until 7:30am. We watched "Weekend Sunrise" then slowly got ourselves organised.
Marg wanted to go to Spotlight to buy some filling, she is crocheting trauma teddys. Then over to Reject Shop at Currimundi to buy paint brushes, she is painting rocks (don't ask why, she has finally lost it), it is some new fad, similar to geo-caching. We had a coffee and muffin at Muffin Break and then some shopping at Woollies.
Back at camp, we walked to the beach, on the way stopping to talk to our friends (Allan and Donna), then continuing onto the beach. It was beautiful with some cloud cover blocking out the sun for half our walk. Being Sunday, the beach was busy, the surfers were enjoying the smallish waves. We walked towards the dog area, which was chockers with dogs and their owners and then back to camp.

After lunch, I went for a ride and left Marg painting rocks.
I turned into 'cycleman' and headed off to the Lighthouse at Mooloolaba. My usual route, it was a bugger heading to the Lighthouse, as it was into a head wind, but it was beautiful riding South, as it was a very pleasant tail wind. Still didn't see the 4 month old lab.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 33.7kms was ride#4 and gives me a total of 135.7kms at Dicky and 1,101.24kms on the Gold Coast, giving me a total of 1,237.0kms so far in Qld.

Back at camp, Marg was still up and didn't have a nanna nap at all. She was buggering about with painting rocks and I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was 'chicken with sticks up them' with vegies. It was very yumma.

Tomorrow, we plan to do very similar to today's activities.

11:52am - A pleasant Sunday morning.

11:52am - My 'Petal'.

11:57am - A Nacra 430 cat.

11:57am - The waves weren't large.

11:57am - Nice turn.

12:00pm - The waves are so clean.

1:36pm - Today's weather photo taken at Point Cartwright Lighthouse, as usual.

Day 94 - Monday 24th July 2017.

Disposed of my 'Toy Car' collection - Dicky Beach Day 6.

A bit of history.
Some people collect 'stuff'. Well, I have been collecting 'toy cars' since the mid 1990s. I collected Brocky, Moffat, Dicky, Skaifey and Lowndesy race cars. Over time I had amassed over 250 1/18 scale cars plus over 100 1/43 scale. I displayed them on 4 large wallunits approx 2.5 x 2 meters. As we have sold our shack, there will not be enough room in our apartment, SO I had to sell them. Yesterday, Ross picked up 106 cars. I now have 50 cars left and I will keep them.

I have been sleeping like a log, and woke about 6:45am, and laid in bed listening to radio, while Marg slept on. About 7:30am, we watched "Sunrise" then slowly got ourselves organised.
We walked over to 'Reelax at Dicky' for a coffee and sat and watched the world go bye. Being Monday, it was deserted compared to yesterday. We were back at camp by 11:30am, waiting for Ross to arrive at noon, he arrived with 2 minutes to spare. I got permission from Peter the park manager, to allow Ross to park at our camp site. It took about 45 minutes to pack his car with 106 cars. The cars were in tea chests at our Storage King in Southport, but Ross was visiting his folks, holidaying at Noosa, SO Marg suggested that we take the cars with us. The fiver was chockers with diecast cars.

After Ross left, we had lunch and then Marg needed to go back to Spotlight again, to buy some wool, she is back making a 'dream catcher'. Then over to Muffin Break for a coffee and a food shop at nearby Woollies.

It was too late to ride, SO I buggered about on my laptop. I have only found out a couple of days ago that all my photos stored on Photobucket cannot be accessed unless I pay US$400 per year. This isn't going to happen. Currently, I pay US$25 per year which gives me 20Gb of storage and free linking to my photos. Well, Photobucket have decided that they are no longer making money, so without telling any of their 100 million plus members, they have decided to disable the linking of photos. Reading the various forums, people are absolutley PISSED OFF. I have over 26,000 photos and sometime in the future, we will lose the link and wont be able to view any of my photos. I have been a member since August 2004. Each photo now has to be copied to Microsoft One Drive and each photo has to be individually shared. It will take me forever to amend all my code.
Today, I amended Mum's webpage of 70 photos and it took many hours. I am NOT Happy, Jan.

Dinner was bacon and egg sangas. They were yumma.

Tomorrow, Lukey and family arrive for a 4 night holiday.

No photos OR riding today.
