Day 127 - Sunday 20th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day14.

We both awoke just after 6:30am and laid in bed listening to Macca on the radio then about 7:30am we watched Weekend Sunrise. As we had nothing planned for today, I went riding about 9:15am, I stopped at the spot where I saw Monty yesterday and looked for him, but he had obviously slithered off to a nice quiet spot to digest the bird that it ate yesterday. I am pretty sure that it was a bird as on closer examination, you could see a knee or beak 'protruding' through the skin. My animal highlight today was seeing a blue tongue lizard in the bush at the Point Cartwright Lighthouse, plus a couple walking 2 Lazza puppies. They were beautiful.
My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 14 rides: 462kms.

After lunch, I was tired, so I had a nanna nap for over an hour then when I woke, marg and I walked over to the 'Strip" where we sat in the sun at 'Reelax at Dicky' for a coffee and cake. The rest of the arvo was spent catching up on recorded TV shows.

Marg created a new dish, it was a slow cooker pizza type no name damper. It was YUMMA.

Tomorrow we plan to visit Maleny and the North section of the Glasshouse Mountains after I go for my ride.

Day 128 - Monday 21st July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day15

Today we were meant to drive to Mary Cairncross cafe near Maleny, but they are closed on Mondays.
We both awoke just after 6:00am and laid in bed watching Sunrise, before getting up after 7am. We had brekky and buggered about camp until 10am, when we drove over to Spotlight, Marg needed 'stuff' which she found, then we went to Kawana Waters SC for a coffee at Michels and some food shopping at Woollies. Driving home, I noticed that the weather was clouding over, so instead of having lunch, I went for my normal ride. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 15 rides: 495kms. Arriving back at camp just after 2pm, I had lunch and read my book, while Marg was doing her crochetting and then we both had a nanna nap and the rains arrived. It was so good laying on the bed, listening to the rain on the roof, and looking out the window at the rain clouds.

Marg made omelettes, they were YUMMA.

Tomorrow (take 2) we plan to visit Maleny and the North section of the Glasshouse Mountains after I go for my ride.

Day 129 - Tuesday 22nd July 2014.

Lunch at Maleny - Dicky Beach - Day16.

Today we finally drove to Mary Cairncross cafe near Maleny.
We both awoke just after 6:30am and laid in bed watching Sunrise, before getting up after 7am. We had brekky and buggered about camp, I did my normal ride. My riding highlight was a bloody puncture, a 1" nail went through my rear tyre after probably 15 minutes I was off again, rode to a service station and pumped the tyre to full pressure (55psi). My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 16 rides: 528kms.
Back at camp, we left just on 11am and headed to Mary Cairncross cafe for lunch, arriving there at 11:36am. I took a few photos of the view, it was cloudy and a bit hazy, BUT still beautiful. We had a table which gave us an uninterrupted view, except for some artist who was painting the view. Lunch was YUMMA, Marg had a steak sanga, while I had a burger. Our next stop was the fudge shop in Maleny (Sweet on Maple), we left there $44 lighter and the fudge is very yumma. From there, we stopped and had a coffee and bought some cheese at Maleny Cheese. As the clouds were gathering, we decided to cut short our drive and give Montville and Nambour a miss.
Back at camp, we had happy hour with Bob and Val and took some of our Maleny cheese, it was yumma and as usual, we enjoyed our happy hour.

Dinner was scratch, so we had cheese and bikkies. It was YUMMA.

Tomorrow is Bingo.

Day 130 - Wednesday 23rd July 2014.

Bingo Day - Dicky Beach - Day17.

We awoke spot on 6am and I turned on Sunrise, so we laid in bed until after 7am, watching TV. We got up and had brekky. I noticed some workmen in our park, especially the 'stop/slow' man, I walked over to him and chatted for awhile. There were 2 'stop/slow' men from a traffic control company and the actual workers who were replacing the speedhumps, worked for the Sunshine Coast Council. Marg was ready and by 8:40am we walked next door to 'our club' for Bingo. We found a table for four and sat there, Val joined us for Bingo and Bob was meeting us at 12pm for lunch. I paid $56 for 2 full sets and Val paid the $2 for a bowl of chips served at interval. I won $12, the Marg won $25 and I finished by winning $25 also, so for the day, WE WON $6, so for our 3 weeks of bingos we have lost $26.

After Bingo, we stayed at the club and had lunch, Bob joined us and it was a pleasant lunch, Marg had rice balls, I had the Dicky Beach special chicken parma. They were YUMMA. Back at camp, I then went riding, usual route. The highlight was seeing the 'Birdman of Point Cartwright'. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 17 rides: 564kms.

As we had a good lunch, I had cereal for dinner.

Tomorrow we are off to Kawana Waters and a marine shop.

I said smile, so he did.

Day 131 - Thursday 24th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day18.

Same as yesterday, we woke at 6am and watched Sunrise in bed until 7am. We eventually got up, and had brekky, I emptied the shitter and we did a load of washing, including my cycling gear. We were ready to leave about 9:45am, I dropped Marg at Kawana SC, while I went to Satplus for some extra cables, then called into Whitworth marine where I purchased some 'shot cord' to replace our existing small ocky straps that we use to hold our rolled up sides. Against my better judgement, I met Marg at Michels for coffee, I also needed to buy some tubes, as I punctured yesterday and the tube was buggered. Would you believe that Big W had sold out of 26" tubes, I found some at A Mart Sports.

Back at camp, we had lunch, then I went riding and Marg did her thing. There were 2 highlights on the ride, first was, the 2 birdmen of Point Cartwright and the second was the blue tongue lizard that was dying to have its photo taken. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 18 rides: 597kms.
At 4:30pm, we visited Bob and Val and their friends, John and Lorraine, who are staying in a cabin here for the next week. J & L did this last year while we were here.

We had fish and chips from 'Reelax at Dicky', they were yumma.

Tomorrow is back to our normal day, bugger about together in the morning, have lunch, then do our own thing in the arvo.

Day 132 - Friday 25th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day19.

Same as yesterday, we woke at 6am and watched Sunrise in bed until 7am. We eventually got up, and had brekky. We were meant to go for a walk along the beach this morning, but Marg wasn't ready, so she told me to go for a ride. So I did. Who am I to disobey her.
It was another beautiful day, my ride was great as usual. The highlight was watching George and his mate trying to catch fish. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 19 rides: 630kms.

After my ride and shower and before lunch, Marg and I went for a stroll along the beach, it was JUST superb. It was warm, sunny with a light breeze. I also managed to photograph a Toady and find some pretty stones in the shallows. We had lunch and then walked over the road to 'Reelax at Dicky' and had coffee and cake. It was Yumma.
Mid afternoon, I laid on our bed and read BUT fell asleep, I have nearly finished my book (John Grisham's Sycamore Row).
Bob and Val with John and Lorraine visited the Mary Cairncross Scenic reserve on our recommendation and Val came in to thank us. They absolutely loved the cafe and the nature walk.

Dinner was spag bolognese. It was yumma.

Tomorrow is back to our normal day, bugger about together in the morning, have lunch, then do our own thing in the arvo.

Day 133 - Saturday 26th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day20.

Same as yesterday, we woke at 6am and watched the Commonwealth Games in bed until 7am. We eventually got up, and had brekky. We were meant to go to Kawana SC, but as the weather looked threatening, Marg said do my ride now, while it was still dry. So I did. Who am I to disobey her. She is very bossy.
It was an overcast day with bugger all wind, my ride was great as usual. The highlight was watching the large Coast Guard boat tow its 'little brother' into the Mooloolah river. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 20 rides: 663kms.

After my ride and shower, Marg and I drove to Kawana SC for some food shopping and we had lunch at Michels, I had 2 pies and a coffee while Marg had a sausage roll and coffee. We also found a 'magic' suit at Lowes, I have threatened Jay that if he ever gets married I will wear it to his wedding. It is on a par with my 'cool shirts' (aka colourful Hawaiian shirts). At Woollies, I had a moment. Picture this, all 'check out chicks' were busy, as I stood in a queue, one of them asked me to come to her counter, which I did, I thought you beauty, this never happens to me. All my groceries had been packed into bags and I had paid but the receipt hadn't printed out. After checking that my transaction had gone through, it hadn't, the staff changed the computer/printer and eventually my receipt printed and after probably more than 5 minutes, I was on my way. I felt sorry for the lady behind me, she had loaded all 'weekly' groceries on the counter and at one stage it looked like she would have to repack and go to another counter. Thankfully, everything worked and she was Ok and we headed home.
On the way back to camp, I filled up with fuel (now remember that I am a retrenched banker and love figures) so this is what turned me on. I was at pump #1 and it totalled $101.01 a nice sequence.

For the remainder of the arvo, I read my Kindle, I have finished John Grisham's Sycamore Row ( a great read) and Marg said that I would like Jeffrey Archer's books, so I have started reading his first book (Not a penny more, Not a penny less), so far so good.

Dinner was chicken and avocado sangas. They were yumma.

Tomorrow we will visit the Bribie Island Markets.

Today's weather photo.

A flat day on the water.

Big brother towing little brother.

I am thinking of buying this suit. Maybe not.
