Day 134 - Sunday 27th July 2014.

Visited Bribie Island market and Mary Cairncross views - Dicky Beach - Day 21.

Same as yesterday, we woke at 6am and watched the Commonwealth Games in bed until 7am. We eventually got up, had brekky and got ourselves organised. We left at 8:52am heading to Bribie Island, arriving at 9:48am, found a parking spot at the Bribie Island Art Centre market. We visited the Art display and there were some magic exhibits, next was the kitchen where Marg had scones and jam and cream, while I had egg and bacon sangas plus a coffee. We walked into the pottery and quilting rooms, before going through the Wood working rooms. We couldn't leave without calling into the Bribie Island Gem club, where we chatted to some of the members. We left Bribie Island at 11:00am and while heading back to the Bruce Highway, Marg suggested as it is a beautiful, cloudless, sunny day, that we head back to Mary Cairncross Park and take some more photos of the Glasshouse Mountains.
We arrived at Mary Cairncross park, it was chockers, we fluked a car spot and walked to the viewing area, I was disappointed as the haze was still there, we needed more breeze to blow the haze away, but I still took some photos. There were at least 20 motorbikes parked there and I noticed that the riders were in the cafe having lunch. As it was chockers, we left and headed home via Montville. The views were stunning.

Arrived back at camp at 1:00pm, I then went riding. It was a beautiful, warm day. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 21 rides: 696kms.
The rest of the arvo was spent reading outside in the shade.

Dinner was the leftover chook from last night. It was YUMMA.

Tomorrow is back to our normal day, bugger about together in the morning, have lunch, then do our own thing in the arvo.

Today's sightseeing route to Bribie Island then back past Mary Caircross and Montville - 193kms.

Where ever we go, George is close by.

Life is tough, this dude was moored there last week.

Day 135 - Monday 28th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day 22.

Similar to yesterday, we woke at 6:30am and watched the Commonwealth Games in bed until 7:30am. We eventually got up, had brekky and I went riding, while Marg buggered about at camp. It was a beautiful, warm day, the ocean was a mill pond as only an ocean can be, I watched the Pilot boat approach from visiting the cargo ships offshore.w My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 22 consecutive rides: 729kms. Only a maximum of 5 more rides at Dicky Beach.
After showering, Marg and I went for a stroll along the beach. It was just magnificent, a very light breeze with bugger all swell, just a small shorebreak to keep some surfers occupied. We just happen to finish at 'Reelax at Dicky' for a coffee and cake. Back to camp, we had lunch then Marg had to visit our 'club' to check on the pokies. I sat outside and read until Marg came back. She lost but not much. They all say that.

Dinner was chook casserole. It was YUMMA.

Tomorrow is back to our normal day, bugger about together in the morning, have lunch, then do our own thing in the arvo.

Today's weather photo.

The waves were very clear.

Dicky Beach is very nice.

Day 136 - Tuesday 29th July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day 23.

Similar to yesterday, we woke at 6:30am and watched the Commonwealth Games in bed until after 8am. We eventually got up, had brekky and then drove over to Kawana SC for some food shopping at Woollies and coffee and cake at Michels, also some XXXX Gold I was running low.
Back at camp for lunch, I then went riding, while Marg buggered about at camp. It was a beautiful, warm day, as I sat on the beacon at the mouth of the Mooloolah river, I spotted 2 whales about 150 meters offshore. They were heading south, so I rode back to the top of the Lighthouse bluff, so I could look 'down' on them. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 23 consecutive rides: 762kms. Only a maximum of 4 more rides at Dicky Beach.
Back at camp, I spent the remainder of the arvo reading my Jeffrey Archer book, about 80% read, a good read.

Dinner was frozen pies, they were yumma.

Tomorrow is BINGO.

Today's weather photo.

Off to work, we go.

About 150 meters off the beacon.

Off the Bluff at the Lighthouse.

....Closer....

Less than 100 meters offshore, before heading out to sea.

Day 137 - Wednesday 30th July 2014.

Bingo Day - Dicky Beach - Day24.

We awoke spot on 6am and I turned on Commonwealth Games, so we laid in bed until after 7am, watching TV. We got up and had brekky. Marg was ready and by 8:40am we walked next door to 'our club' for Bingo. We found a table for four and sat there, Val joined us for Bingo. I paid $56 for 2 full sets and $2 for a bowl of chips served at interval. I won $12, the Marg won 3 times totalling $36, so for the day, we lost $8, so for our 4 weeks of bingos we have lost $34.

After Bingo, we walked back to camp and as I was changing into my cycling clothes, I noticed David and Di arriving with their Trailblazer 5th Wheeler, it is our twin. I had a quick talk with them as I headed off on my ride, usual route. The highlight was seeing one whale off the lighthouse, but I couldn't get a 'good' photo of it. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 24 consecutive rides: 795kms. Only a maximum of 3 more rides at Dicky Beach.

Dinner was at our 'club' with Bob and Val and John and Lorraine. What a great night, the food was great, the company was great and I am great.

Tomorrow we are cleaning the mighty Navara.

Today's weather photo.

A good breeze for a sail.

The whale is just off the boat on the right.

Day 138 - Thursday 31st July 2014.

Enjoying ourselves in Dicky Beach - Day 25.

We awoke just after 6:30am and laid in bed, watching the Commonwealth Games until 8:00am. We got up and had brekky. About 10am, we drove over to the local car wash and vacuumed the inside of the mighty Navara. Back at camp, we walked over the road to 'Reelax at Dicky' passing David and Di's site but they were out gallivanting about somewhere, so we had coffee and cake without them. We will try and catch up later, if not here, when they join us at Broadwater Tourist Park in Southport, our paths will cross their for 2 weeks.

Back at camp, I changed into my cycling clothes and did my normal ride. The highlight was seeing a yacht approaching Mooloolaba, so I took photos of it as it got closer to me. It was called 'Atom Ant' and had various sponsors painted on its sides, so back at camp, I googled it and it recently competed in the Solo Trans Tasman race, which finished at Mooloolaba. As it was the smallest yacht in the race at 9 meters, it naturally finished at the back of the fleet, in a time of 16d 7h 50m 0s. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 25 consecutive rides: 831kms. Only a maximum of 2 more rides at Dicky Beach.
The remainder of the arvo was spent, relaxing in the shade.

Dinner was Marg's new recipe - egg, bacon, tomato and potato pie. I thought it was yumma, but Marg wasn't a big fan, so when I finish the leftovers, it may never appear again.

Tomorrow, Bob and Val are taking us to Strawberry Fields on the Sunshine Coast NOT the one in Central park, New York.

Today's weather photo.

Atom Ant approaching Mooloolaba.

Going along at a good rate.

Luffing into the wind, so they could drop the main.

Under motor.

The sponsorship logos made me google it.

Day 139 - Friday 1st August 2014.

Visited Strawberry Fields - Dicky Beach - Day 26.

Again awoke just after 6:00am and laid in bed, watching the Commonwealth Games until 7:00am. We got up and had brekky. I went riding about 7:45am, as we were going to Strawberry Fields for lunch. Marg buggered about at camp, while I did my normal ride to the Point Cartwright Lighthouse. My riding details: Today 33kms, Dicky Beach total for 26 consecutive rides: 864kms. My last ride in Dicky Beach, is planned for 'first thing' in the morning.
I was back, showered, changed and we walked to Bob and Val's site at 11:30am, all of 2 sites away. Bob met us and said that Val has done her back in, I suggested that we give it a miss. Val insisted that the three of us go and leave her, so we did. Bob drove and it took probably 15 minutes, it is 'sort of' over the road from Aussie World on the Bruce Highway. We arrived at Strawberry Fields about 11:45am, just in time to watch the workers sorting and packing strawberries. The fields were chockers, as the strawberry pickers were out in force. There is no way that I could bend down and pick strawberries, my back would be similar to Vals. So we walked to the cafe and bought strawberry pancakes with strawberry ice cream, It was YUMMA. After lunch we visited the shop and bought a kilo of strawberries, which I am eating, slowly. Bob dropped us back at camp and booked Val into a Physio later today (she is back from the Physio feeling crap but has some medicine to ease the pain). The remainder of the arvo was spent with both of us having a nanna nap, then walked over the road to 'Reelax in Dicky Beach' for a coffee, and on the way back, stopped and had a quick chat with David and Di and agreed that when they arrive at Southport, we will have dinner at 'OUR' Club.

Dinner was leftovers from last night. It was yumma.

Tomorrow, ride in the morning, shop at Kawana SC and in the arvo, pack up for our departure on Sunday.

Today's weather photo.

The surfers were out today.

Nice sets.

The morning sun glistening off the ocean.

It was windy with a choppy swell.

My favourite photo spot about 1km from camp.

Section of Strawberry Fields.

The processing area.

The pickers were out in force.

Where are Bob and Marg going? Maybe to the Cafe.

They finish at midday.

Strawberries everywhere.

As I am colourblind, I couldn't pick 'ripe' strawberries.

Day 140 - Saturday 2nd August 2014.

Pack up day - Dicky Beach - Day 27 - Our last day.

Again awoke just after 6:00am and laid in bed, watching the Commonwealth Games until 7:30am. We got up and dressed and walked over the road to 'Reelax at Dicky' and had their 2 for $15 breakfast which included 2 eggs, toast, tomato and bacon. Very Yumma. After brekky, a short trip to top up the mighty Navara with Fuel and air. The rest of the day was spent 'slowly' packing up, consequently, I didn't ride. I finished packing up, just in time to watch the V8s on TV, Lowndesy had 2 seconds a great improvement.

Dinner was fish n chips from , you guessed it, 'Reelax at Dicky'. It was yumma.

Tomorrow, we drive 160kms to Southport for a 7 week stay to visit our boys and their families. We can't wait.
