Some of my photos while riding my Melbourne Zoo loop in 2014.

I usually met up with Matty (my former workmate) at North Rd, Brighton around 7:15am (on Mondays and Fridays) and continue upto Spuntino at Station Pier for brekky (Egg and Bacon sanga washed down with a coffee). After brekky, Matty peels off to work at Queensbridge St just near the Crown Casino, while I continue along the Yarra Trail mainly along the South side to where the Gardiners Creek trail peels off to the right, under the Monash Freeway. I veer left which turns into the Capital City Trail. I ride through the Collingwood Animal Farm, before stopping at Digits Falls for a rest stop. I then follow the Merri Creek Trail under the Eastern Freeway, under Heidelberg Rd crossing over Merri creek twice before walking under Rushall Station. After leaving Rushall Station I ride along the shared path running parallel to Park St, crossing over St Georges Rd, Nicholson St, Lygon St among others before riding under Royal Parade and passing the North entrance to the Melbourne Zoo, continuing on to Flemington Bridge Station at the junction of Flemington Rd, Mt Alexander Rd and Tulla Freeway. The path now continues alongside the Moonee Ponds creek until you meet Foostscray Rd at Costco. Cross over Footscray Rd to the South side and ride through Docklands and make your way back to Spuntinos Cafe at Station Pier, stopping for a coffee and checking out the Tassie Boat. After coffee, I ride home along the Bay Trail looking out over the beautiful Port Phillip Bay.
My ride is just over 90kms.

Approaching Mentone Station just after sunrise.

I enter the shared path just opposite the Black Rock clocktower.

Passing the Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

Matty rocks up at 7:30am as planned.

Matty spotted this at Spuntino, obviously, I am 'pure happiness'.

Outside Rive Gauche cafe at SouthBank where I have been known to frequent.

"Donalds" family out for a stroll along the Yarra this morning.

MacRobbo bridge, my turnaround point on some rides.

The northern section is closed for '6 weeks' from 15th September 2014.

Following the 'girls' upto the Boulevard.

Riding along the 'Park St' shared path on my way to the Zoo.

Suns out and a beautiful ride along 'Park St'.

I did make it to the Zoo, about to head for the Moonee Ponds creek shared path.

Jeff's digit???

This was a nice sight along the Moonee Ponds creek path.

Our 'famous' wheel. It was moving as I rode past.

Back on my familiar territory - The Beaconsfield Parade shared path.

'The Black Pearl' aka Largo is my wind vane when I ride past it.

The 'A Class' catamarans rigging at Elwood. In my previous life, I owned and raced one of those.

Am I back in QLD, NOPE, just looking out at Brighton Beach.

Sandy FC oval.

My usual rest stop, it has magnificent views.

'The Cerberus'. In my youth, we swam out to it and did 'bombs' from the funnel.

The Black Rock Yacht Club, I was a member from the 60s to late 80s. A great life.

A magic view from the top of the Red Bluff cliffs.

The 'famous' Black Rock clocktower.

The Tassie boat leaving about 8:45am.

How nice is our skyline this morning. Bloody nice.

The Tassie Boat and the cruise ship "Oosterdam".

This view along Beaconsfield Pde reminds me of the Gold Coast.
