Home to Turnaround Pt down to Surfers via GC600 Park to Surfers to The Spit (both ends - twice) then back through GC600 Park back to Cafe Rockpool and finally back Home about 50+kms.
Today's highlight: was the Gold Coast Show setting up in the Broadwater Parklands. It starts Friday.
I awoke at 4:45am and checked the current weather report and looked outside. It looked overcast with a forecast of showers. I thought "stuff it, if I get wet.. so be it". So I wore long cycle pants and my wet weather jacket. I was warm as.
I left home at 5:00am, it was warm 18deg, and within 100 meters from home, I was wet, but within a kilometer from home, it stopped raining and didn't rain again during my ride. The Broadwater was glassy.
I rode my normal route to The Spit and returned home via the same route, staying on the Shared Paths as much as I could.
I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, over the Bridge, I headed through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty still had "Iron Blonde" moored there.
I took photos on my way to and from The Spit. I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex, followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark, a lap and a bit of the Muriel Henchman carpark, continuing out to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit.
The sunrise was hidden by clouds but still looked nice.
I did 2 laps of The Spits.
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. I felt good, so I decided to explore the setting up for the Gold Coast Show and then do a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 213 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
I took my time and loved the ride.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

I left home at 5:07am, it was cool, dry and cloudless with a light breeze. The Broadwater had a very slight ripple.
I rode my normal route to The Spit and returned home via the same route, staying on the Shared Paths as much as I could.
I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, over the Bridge, I headed through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty still had "Iron Blonde" moored there.

I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex, followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark, a lap and a bit of the Muriel Henchman carpark, continuing out to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit.

Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. I felt good, so I decided to do a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 212 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.
I took my time and loved the ride.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

It was beautiful at the end of the Spits - sunny and no wind. I did 2 laps of The Spits, 1st lap was just before sunrise, 2nd lap was just at sunrise.
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. I felt good, so I decided to do a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 223 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites.

I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, stopped on the Sundale Bridge and took a panoramic photo, showing (L-R Highrisers) Southport, Main Beach and Surfers in the background.
Over the Bridge, I headed through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty had a new yacht "Black Pearl". This "Black Pearl" certainly looked different to Captain Jack Sparrow’s "Black Pearl".

I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex (which has started to be demolished), followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark, a lap and a bit of the Muriel Henchman carpark, continuing out to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. It was beautiful at the end of the Spits - sunny and no wind.
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. I felt good, so I decided to do a lap of 'our' caravan park, there were 225 occupied caravan sites out of 230 sites. Being NSW school holidays, it was nearly chockers. My only disappointment was, I only saw 1 x fifth wheeler caravan. We sold our fifth wheeler back in 2022.
