Home to Turnaround Pt down to Surfers via GC600 Park to Surfers to The Spit (both ends - twice) then back through GC600 Park back to Cafe Rockpool and finally back Home about 50+kms.
Today's highlight: just the joy of Riding.
I decided that I should ride regularly and I decided to make Wednesday, ride day. Today is 7th Wednesday in a row.
I awoke at 5:30am, checked the weather outside. It was dry and cloudy and the sun had not risen and there was a strong breeze. So I went riding. The Broadwater had a ripple.
I rode my normal route to The Spit and returned home via the same route and rode upto Lands End, staying on the Shared Paths as much as I could.
I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, through the Broadwater Parklands.
Over the Bridge, I headed through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty had "Rascal" moored there.
I took photos on my way to and on my way from The Spit. I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex (which will be demolished), followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark. Through the Muriel Henchman carpark, continuing out to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos.
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. I stopped at a benchseat with a nice view over the Broadwater, just near the Sundale Bridge and ate my banana.
I continued homeward, as I was feeling OK, I extended my ride by continuing upto Lands End then home.
I took my time and loved the ride.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.

Sun rising over the beacon at the end of the Seaway/Spit.
Today's highlight: Riding in beautiful Sunny/Cloudy with a little bit of Drizzle.
I had no intention to ride today, so I did our weekly shop and then coffee at Josephs. On my way home, I thought that I need a ride, so I did.
It was a beautiful Sunny/Cloudy (25deg) day. The breeze was a South Easterly and the Broadwater had slight chop.
I rode my normal route to The Spit and returned home via the same route.

I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, through the Broadwater Parklands.
Over the Bridge and through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty had "Placidity" and "Maritimo 100" all tied up at the jetty. Stopped and spoke to one of the crew aboard "Maritimo 100" again.
I took photos on my way to and on my way from The Spit. I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex (which is being demolished), followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark. From the GC Bulletin newspaper "It has been less than two weeks since renowned American actor Alan Ritchson started filming on the Gold Coast. Ritchson began filming for his new movie following decorated US NAVY seal hero Mike Thornton and his “real-life struggle for survival in the hostile waters of South China Sea” on January 16".
Rode back the same way that I rode to The Spit. Stopped for some water, at a bench seat in the shade with a view of the Broadwater. Bloody beautiful..

Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.
Today's highlight: Riding with my 'little boy' Lukey. It was magical.
Last week Lukey said he needed a change of scenery from riding near his home to riding down around The Spit, Surfers etc. So last week we rode to The Spit. Today we made our way to Broadbeach.
We left home about 5:26am, and we rode over the Sundale Bridge, through MacIntosh Island (where the Supercars race), through Surfers via the Beach Shared path and turned around when we reached Broadbeach and rode along the road back to Surfers, then along the beach shared path back through MacIntosh Island and finally arrived home.
As Lukey has family commitments, he has to be home around 8:30am, we only stopped for a few minutes at Hanlan St, Surfers, on our way home and took a couple of photos.
Arrived at home. Another great ride, especially that I rode with my 'little boy'.
Today's highlight: Riding in beautiful COOL Overcast.
I left home about 7:47am, I had no intention of riding today. I woke at 6:00am, went to Josephs for my daily coffee, got home, and felt like a ride, so I did.
It was a beautiful, COOL, Overcast day. The breeze was a COOL Southerly and the Broadwater had slight chop.
I rode my normal route to The Spit and returned home via the same route.
I headed straight to the Sundale Bridge, through the Broadwater Parklands.
Over the Bridge and through the Southport YC then along the Shared Path, towards The Seaway/Spit. The superyacht jetty was full, with "Sunset", "Zuri" and "Maritimo 100" all tied up at the jetty. Stopped and speak to one of the crew aboard "Maritimo 100" about their Sydney to Hobart race, which they had to retire from, due to a fault. I took photos on my way to and on my way from The Spit. I rode around the Marina Mirage shopping complex (which is being demolished), followed by a lap of the Seaworld Carpark. Through the Muriel Henchman carpark, which had a wrecked car there, continuing out to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took more photos then finally made it to the tip of the Seawall/Spit. Stopped and took my photos.
At The Spit, there were at least 100 cars parked for the latest movie that they are making on the Gold Coast. Through some thorough investigating, I found out that it is Alan Ritchson (aka Jack Reacher - Lee Child's books) is the main actor, unfortunately, everyone was ferried over the Seaway to South Straddy Island where the physical filming is underway.
I continued homeward, I took my time and loved the ride.
Arrived at home. Another great, enjoyable ride.
Today's highlight: Riding with my 'little boy' Lukey. It was magical.
Lukey said that we both need to get off our bums and go riding. He said that he will drive to my place and we will ride to The Spit as the views along the way 'shit over' the views around his area. So we arranged that he gets to my place around 5:30am as he has family commitments and he has to be home around 8:30am. Hence it was ride non stop to The Spit, stop have a drink take a few photos then ride non stop back home.
We left home about 5:35am. As Lukey wanted nice scenery, I took him past the Superyacht jetty, "Maritimo 100" was moored there, then through the Southport YC carpark, along the jetty surrounding Marina Mirage, around the perimeter of the Seaworld carpark, past the front door of the Sea World Resort, then a lap and a half of Muriel Henchman Park, down to the tip of the Moondarewa Spit, took 4 photos, then to the tip of The Spit/Seawall plus Danny the Dolphin was swimming in the seaway and said "Hi" to us. Plus there was the normal magnificent views, consequently, Lukey loved the route.
Rode back non stop the same way that we rode to The Spit.
Arrived at home. Another great, especially that I rode with my 'little boy'.
