0 Frosty's Aussie Adventures Trip2016

Day 89 - Wednesday 6th July 2016.

Southport to Dicky Beach - 168 kms.

We awoke about 6:30am, got showered and started packing up and hit the road at 9:23am.

We followed Smith St to the M1, along the Gateway over Storey Bridge and continued along the Bruce to the Caloundra turnoff. The traffic was excellent, no stoppages at all. We only had a 170kms to go, so I didn't have a rest stop and drove non stop. We arrived at Dicky just on 11:30am, even though Tom told us at the start that our ETA was 11:26am, so very close.
I paid Peter the manager, $1,245 for 28 nights and we setup on 'our site' (#40). It took nearly all afternoon but it was a FULL setup. It consists of power, water, sullage hose, awning with 3 walls, the skirt along the LHS of the fiver to wind proof the enclosed awning area, the skirt at the front where my treadley lives chained to one of the front legs, the evacool fridge/freezer is chained to the other front leg and lives inside the awning, we also have a collapsible wardrobe which lives inside the awning and has been brilliant. Almost forgot, I had to unpack my bike and get it ready for riding.

Dinner was nachos. They were yumma.

Tomorrow we have shopping to do and I hope to ride.

Our route from Southport to Dicky Beach - 168 kms.

Day 90 - Thursday 7th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 1.

I slept like a log last night, and didn't wake until near 7:30am, very rare for me, Marg woke a few minutes later. We laid in bed watching Kochie, eventually getting up about 8:30am. We showered, dressed and had brekky. Marg got herself organised and we left about 9:45am for Kawana Waters Shoppingworld. After a quick walkaround to see any new shops from last year. We had a coffee at Michels and did some food shopping at Woollies. We also stopped in at the Reject Shop, where Marg spotted some 'thick' wool, and decided that she would crochet a 'chunky rug', so she bought all the balls of 'green'. Now she wants more so tomorrow, we are doing a 'Reject shop crawl' looking for more balls of 'green' wool. (I am colourblind).

Back at camp, we had lunch then I turned into 'cycleman' and headed off to the Lighthouse at Mooloolaba. My normal route is approx 32kms, but I would like to ride about 45kms, which means that I have to ride some sections of it, twice, BUT not today maybe tomorrow, if the gale dies down.
While I was away, Marg watched her Dance Mom episodes.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 33kms gives me a total of 154kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 1st ride at Dicky for a total of 33kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,353kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

We felt like Hamburgers for dinner so at 5pm, we walked over the road and renewed acquantiances with the owner of 'Reelax at Dicky', except that she has sold it. The hamburgers were very yumma and big.

Tomorrow we are visting every Reject Shop in the area. I can't wait.

My normal ride of approx 32kms unless I duplicate sections.

2:00pm - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

2:01pm - The new mural on the watertank.

2:07pm - The mouth of the Mooloolaba river.

2:07pm - This dude just beat me out of the river.

2:07pm - The watertank has been 'muraled'.

12:59pm 7th July 2015.

2:07pm - A couple going for a nice paddle.

2:08pm - Heading out just passing the dredge.

3:02pm - Taken at the Coondibah Creek near camp.

Day 91 - Friday 8th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 2.

Marg slept 'ratshit' and got up at 5:30am, I heard her get up but dozed until 6:30am then got up and had brekky, before going for a ride. I left Marg watching Kochie. I expected Marg to go back to bed. At 7:41am I headed North to Point Cartwright Lighthouse at Mooloolaba and back, with a 16kms duplicate section, giving me about 47kms in total.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 201kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 2nd ride at Dicky for a total of 80kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,400kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

Today's riding report that I posted on Bicycle Network.

I got back to camp at 10:41am. I checked on Marg and she was still up, so after I showered, we walked over to the Dicky Beach shopping strip and had a coffee at 'Reelax at Dicky' and sat out the front and watched the world pass us bye. After coffee, we went for a walk along the beach. The tide was in but it was still magic. Back at camp, reading my emails, I had received one from 'my stalker' and we will meeting up (again), next week for coffee and a chat.
Before lunch, we drove off to 2 'Reject Shops', so Marg could try and buy some more 'thick' wool that she wanted BUT to no avail. They had 'thick' wool BUT not the correct colour. So back at camp, we had lunch and as I settled in to watch the V8s from Townsville, Marg managed to have a nanna nap.
So far, Lowndesy is currently 20th in practice, not flash at all.

Marg cooked up curry with rice. It was yumma.

Tomorrow we will probably walk along the beach and I will go for a ride.

This can be today's weather photo. It was an absolute 'pearler' of a day.

Just a gentle shore break.

You can just see the rocks in the distance.

Marg loves to walk through the shallows.

We sat and daydreamed.

There's MY Lighthouse that I ride too.

This guy flew in to say "Hi".

Day 92 - Saturday 9th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 3.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I got up just after 7am and turned on 'Weekend Sunrise' for Marg who stayed in bed.
I had brekky and changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 7:56am and headed North towards Mooloolaba.

I headed along the shared path past the Dicky Beach SLSC along the back streets to Currimundi Lake. Along a shared path to Nicklin Way, over the bridge along another shared path beside the north side of the Lake, following the path for 1-2 kms then along the back streets to the Lighthouse or along the shared paths. It depends what mood I'm in. At the Lighthouse, I turn around and head back to Oceanside then back to the Lighthouse, then down the BIG hill to the mouth of the Mooloolaba river. Stop at the end and eat my bananas then ride back UP THE BLOODY BIG HILL back to the Lighthouse then back to camp. Usually about 47kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 248kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 3rd ride at Dicky for a total of 127kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,447kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

I got back to camp at 10:59am. Same as yesterday, after I showered, we walked over to the Dicky Beach shopping strip and had a coffee at 'Reelax at Dicky' and sat out the front and watched the world pass us bye. After coffee, we went for a walk along the beach. The tide was in but it was still magic. The surfers were out in force, so we sat on the sand and watched them and I took some photos. Back at camp, we had lunch, while Marg buggered about and then had a nanna nap, while I relaxed and watched the V8s on TV.
Lowndesy could only managed 12th, hopefully, he improves tomorrow. Go Lowndesy.

Marg cooked her 'world famous' beef schnitzel and vegies. It was yumma.
We bought the schnitzel from the butchers in our little shopping strip.

Tomorrow we will probably walk along the beach and I will go for a ride. Very similar to today.

8:53am - Off the Lighthouse.

8:53am - A surfer (if you didn't know).

8:54am - A nice wave.

9:37am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:38am - This dude was patrolling the beaches.

9:43am - From the Spit.

9:46am - A beautiful sailing day.

9:47am - Dad and his son.

10:52am - At Coondibah Creek.

Today's walk along the beach upto the rocks. That is Caloundra across the water.

The surfers were out in force today, just off Dicky Beach.

Day 93 - Sunday 10th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 4.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I got up just after 7am and turned on 'Weekend Sunrise' for Marg who stayed in bed.
I had brekky and changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 7:53am and headed North towards Mooloolaba.

I headed along the shared path past the Dicky Beach SLSC along the back streets to Currimundi Lake. Along a shared path to Nicklin Way, over the bridge along another shared path beside the north side of the Lake, following the path for 1-2 kms then along the back streets to Oceanic Drv then into Pacific Blvd which takes you to the Lighthouse or instead of going along Pacific Blvd you can choose the shared paths. I usually ride along the roads until I reach the Lighthouse then turn around and ride back along the road to Oceanside where I turn around and head back to the Lighthouse. Stopping at the Lighthouse for my usual daily weather photos, then I roll down the BIG HILL and ride out to the end of the "Spit" (mouth of the Mooloolaba river), where I sit and take in the wonderful vistas and eat my bananas. Then ride back UP THE BLOODY BIG HILL back to the Lighthouse then back to along the shared paths (where available) back to camp. Usually about 47kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 295kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 4th ride at Dicky for a total of 174kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,494kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

I got back to camp at 10:42am. After I showered, Marg wanted to visit Spotlight as she needed more wool and we also had to re-visit Reject Shop at Kawana Waters Shoppingworld. Marg knows that it will cost her a coffee, so we stopped at Michels, while at Kawana Waters and had coffee and cake then did a small food shop at Woollies. On the way home, I surprised Marg by driving along my 'bike route'. She couldn't care less. That's love.
Back at camp, we had lunch and as it was about 2pm, we didn't go for our walk along the beach. I sat down and watched the V8s, while Marg is busy crochetting her blanket, before having a nanna nap.
Lowndesy could only managed 10th, only 2 places better than yesterday.

Marg cooked her 'mini me's. They were yumma.

Tomorrow we will probably walk along the beach and I will go for a ride.

9:23am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:26am - Looking towards Alexandra Headlands.

9:27am - Looking at the Beacon at the end of The "Spit".

9:35am - Mooloolaba in the background.

10:07am - RC yachts on a lake.

10:32am - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 94 - Monday 11th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 5.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I got up just after 7:30am and turned on 'Sunrise' for Marg who stayed in bed. She has a hair appointment at 11am today.
I had brekky and changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:22am and headed North towards Mooloolaba.

Just as I was getting my bike out I noticed a 'tear' in the sidewall of my tyre that probably explains why over the past few rides I have noticed a thud in my rear tyre. It feels similar when a weight falls off your car rim. After checking the condition of the 'tear', I thought that it was sound enough for another ride, BUT I did take it easy. No fast cornering.
I rode my normal route to the Lighthouse and back with a few intermittent drizzle spells, just enough to keep me damp.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 33kms gives me a total of 328kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 5th ride at Dicky for a total of 207kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,527kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

I got back to camp at 10:48am. Marg was just about to walk over the road to the hairdressers. She will be away for a couple of hours.
After I showered, I headed off to the local bike shop and bought a new tyre ($33 plus $10 to fit it). Yesterday, while sitting at the Dicky Beach Bakery having a coffee, I noticed that there was a Telstra Air hotspot outside our caravan park. I tried to access it but Telstra told me that my account was a business account. Which is BULLSHIT. So today while out at the bike shop, I called into the local Telstra shop.

I told the welcoming guy my query and he said there was a 10 minute wait, so I sat and waited. The 'tech' girl checked my account and guess what, it is a personal account. SO I asked the 'tech' girl "could she setup a new Telstra Air account for me". To my absolute amazement, she said that she couldn't and I had to contact Telstra. I said I am in a Telstra shop and got up and walked out, muttering some defamatory 'clean' comments. I was absolutely and shot myself in the foot, as I can't find a phone number to contact Telstra. There is a faint hope, that tomorrow I will try another Telstra shop, which is a Telstra shop. I will 'bite my tongue' and try and keep it together. Wish me luck.

Needless to say, I was driving back to camp. (any excuse to use that icon) Marg eventually rang me about 2pm, when she had finished and we meet for a late lunch at the Dicky Beach Bakery. The remainder of the arvo was spent with Marg having a nanna nap and me, watching more episodes of 'The Americans' a top show.

Dinner was the surplus 'mini me's. Still yumma.

Tomorrow we have organised a coffee and chat with my 'Stalker'.

8:32am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:19am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:19am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:21am - Mooloolaba in the background.

9:23am - The Whaleboat on a mill pond.

9:26am - Off through the drizzle.

9:26am - A tad damp under foot.

9:27am - The Pilot boat returning to Port.

9:28am - Looking towards Mooloolaba.

9:28am - The dredge is still working.

9:29am - Wipeout.

10:23am - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 95 - Tuesday 12th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 6.

Today, we met MY Stalker face to face and had coffee with him and his wife - Called into Club Central - Went riding.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I got up just after 7:30am and we laid in bed watching 'Sunrise'. We showered, dressed and had brekky before leaving camp about 9:30am to drive to the Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore to meet up with MY Stalker and his wife. We met at The Coffee Club, had coffee and a chat for over an hour. It was great to catch up again with Stalker and his wife. We left with MY Stalker 'promising' me that he will come and visit us at Dicky Beach on his Harley Trike. You better do it.

We visited Telstra again and were told to install the Telstra Air app. Back at camp, I installed the app BUT each time it logged me on, it immediately logged me off. Very frustrating.
Before we left the Plaza, we visited the 'Spud' man in the Food Court and had spuds for lunch, they were magnificent. Just before we arrived back at camp, we stopped at the Club Central Caloundra, to suss out their Bingo info. Friday morning at 9am, we will be there, ready to break THEIR Bank.

Finally back at camp about 12:45pm, I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 1:15pm and headed North towards Mooloolaba. My new rear tyre worked beautifully, no more thud thuds. It was a strong headwind whenever I rode in a Northerly direction. I hummed and haared whether I would ride my 14kms duplicate section, I did. With the strong wind, the waves were quite large. There were a few surfers out BUT not many. I got back to camp at 3:53pm. I noticed that Marg's side of the bed had been slept in, so I assume someone had a nanna nap while I was out.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 375kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 6th ride at Dicky for a total of 254kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,574kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

For the remainder of the arvo, I had another shower and buggered about at camp.

Dinner was the last of the 'mini me's. Still yumma.

Tomorrow nothing is planned, apart from a ride and a walk along the beach.

2:55pm - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

2:55pm - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

2:58pm - Mooloolaba in the background.(you can see it today).

3:02pm - It was rough until...

3:02pm - it entered the Mooloolaba river.

3:50pm - At Coondibah Creek. Offshore breeze.

Day 96 - Wednesday 13th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 7.

Today, I went riding - visited Currimundi reject Shop - Missed Ted and Sue.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I woke up just after 7:30am and got up and turned on 'Sunrise'. I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:15am and headed North towards Mooloolaba. There was a beautiful tailwind pushing me to the Lighthouse. When I got there, I turned around and headed back to Oceanside. Just as I rolling down the hill, I got struck twice by my feathered friend (Maggie, did I tell you that Mum and Dad had an Old English called Maggie). I had forgotten about him. Last year, while here, I got struck 14 times, SO only 12 to go. He doesn't do any damage and I only hear him hitting my helmet. I will try and get a photo of him. I pushed into the headwind 7kms to my turnaround point at Oceanside, then a beautiful tailwind back to the Lighthouse. Stopped at the top, admired the scenery and took some photos, then rolled down the Hill to the 'Spit', where I ate my bananas before riding back up that BLOODY BIG HILL. I made it but I was knackered, then I had 16kms of headwind back to camp, SO I rode along the shared paths wherever possible, because it is in amongst the trees and breaks the headwind. I arrived back at camp at 11:16am after 47.0kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 422kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 7th ride at Dicky for a total of 301kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,621kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

While out riding, Marg did a few loads of washing. Good girl. After showering, we drove over to Currimundi Reject Shop, Marg is one ball short (of wool). They didn't have one, SO she is not happy (another excuse to use this emoticon) . While at Currimundi, we had lunch at Donut King then did a small food shop at Woollies. Back at camp, there was a card from Ted and Sue, I rang them but they were on their way to Mooloolaba.
Marg read up about Telstra Air, so we walked over to our Telstra Air hotspot and still couldn't get it to work, SO we walked over the road to Dicky Beach Bakery and had a coffee.

For the remainder of the arvo, Marg managed a nanna nap while I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was just a scratch meal. I had cheese and bikkies with a chilled refresher or two.

Tomorrow nothing is planned, apart from a ride and a walk along the beach.

9:58am - A great view from the Lighthouse.

8:23am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:55am - The waves were just beautiful.

9:55am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:57am - the offshore breeze blowing the top off the waves.

9:58am - Another nice scenery view.

11:07am - At Coondibah Creek.

Day 97 - Thursday 14th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 8.

Today, I went riding - Marg visited the pokies next door.

Both Marg and I slept very well. I woke up just after 7:30am and got up and turned on 'Sunrise'. I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 8:53am and headed North towards Mooloolaba. There was a beautiful tailwind pushing me to the Lighthouse. When I got there, I admired the scenery and took some photos, then rolled down the Hill to the 'Spit', where I ate my bananas, and took some photos of the surf and the surfers. I had 16kms of headwind back to camp, SO I rode along the shared paths wherever possible, because it is in amongst the trees and breaks the headwind. I arrived back at camp at 11:10am after 34.3kms. I couldn't be stuffed riding the extra 14kms today, SO I didn't. While at the Spit, Marg send me a text to say that she was going next door to the Dicky Beach SLSC to play the pokies. She lost.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 34kms gives me a total of 456kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 8th ride at Dicky for a total of 335kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,655kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

When I arrived back at camp, Marg was next door losing OUR money, SO I washed my cycling clothes and also emptied 'the shitter'. What a pleasant job, that is. Marg came home just after I finished my shower. We walked over to Dicky Beach Bakery to have a coffee and read the Herald Sun on our ipads BUT after seeing their special of pie and chips and a can of coke for $10, I gave the coffee a miss.
During the arvo, we both had a nanna nap but mine lasted over 2 hours. I must have been tired.

Dinner was Marg's 'world famous' roast crumbed lamb cutlets with vegies. They were yumma.

Tomorrow we have BINGO at Club Central Caloundra. Never been there before. Wish us luck.

8:56am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:41am - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

9:46am - Some of the surfers at Point Break.

Day 98 - Friday 15th July 2016.

Bingo at Caloundra - Dicky Day 9.

We both slept well. I woke at 6:30am and got up, while Marg slept until 7;00am when I had to wake her to get ready for Bingo. We had brekky and got ourselves organised for Bingo and left at 7:50am. Arrived at the Club Central Caloundra (Bowling Club) about 5 minutes later. We have never been here before, so I asked where we could sit etc, I brought 2 full sets for $52 and we sat at the  'newcomers' table. We didn't order any coffee etc, as we didn't know the procedure. Now we do, so next week we may order coffee. There were more people there than we are used to at the Sharks. We got ourselves organised and were ready for the start at 9am.  As we had heaps of time to spare, we read the Herald Sun on our iPads. Marg won $30 while I won NOTHING.

Our Bingo summary after our 6th appearances, paid $52 won $30. At Dicky currently losing $22. Our overall winnings is $157.

After Bingo, we drove over to downtown Caloundra, where I dropped Marg out the front of the Reject Shop, she is still after more wool. She rang me and I picked her up and we drove back to camp. We walked over to the Dicky Beach bakery, where we had coffee and cake.
For the remainder of the arvo, Marg managed to have a nanna nap, while I finished watching the rest of The Americans episodes.

Dinner was a scratch meal. Cheese and bikkies.

As the weather was windy, drizzly and BLOODY COLD, I wimped out and didn't ride.

Tomorrow as the weather is meant to be crap, we don't plan to do anything, except walk over the road and have a coffee.

No photos OR riding today.

Day 99 - Saturday 16th July 2016.

It rained ALL day - Dicky Day 10.

We both slept well. Marg woke up and got up first at 7:00am, while I slept until 7:30am when I eventually got up just before 8am. At that stage, the rain was off and on and still very windy. Overnight, I received an email from my mate Waz(he is a member of Geezer David's forum). Waz has been in the Sunshine Coast Hospital for the past week, SO I checked when visiting hours were and as it is the Private section, I could visit at any hour. I arrived at 9;30am, as it was raining, I parked in 'pole position' to reception. I haven't seen Waz since we first met at Leighton's Peak Hill Caravan Park around 2008/9, we usually chat online. Waz and I chatted for over an hour. I met his 90 year old female patient in the next room, she poppped into Waz's room, a number of times. She was 'sharp as a tack'. Waz and I said our goodbyes. It was great to catchup with Waz, it's just a pity it wasn't under better circumstances.

Back at camp, Marg was ready to go to Kawana Waters shoppingworld to visit The Reject Shop. Shock horror, she is having trouble getting her 'chunky' wool. As it was raining, everyone on the Sunshine Coast was heading to shoppingworld, about 1.5kms from there, I did a U turn and we went to Currimundi Markets, which just happen to have a Reject Shop, so while Marg went looking for wool (she didn't find any), I went to Donut King and ordered coffee and donuts. After finishing them we did a small food shop at Woollies, before returning to camp.
Back at camp, it was still raining, so we were 'fiver' bound like everyone else in camp. I caught up watching Tv shows that I recorded, while Marg managed to have a nanna nap.

Dinner was sausages, eggs, spag, bacon etc. It was yumma.

As the weather was rainy and windy, again I wimped out and didn't ride.

Tomorrow as the weather is meant to be crap, we don't plan to do anything.

No photos OR riding today.

Day 100 - Sunday 17th July 2016.

The sun eventually came out - Dicky Day 11.

We both slept well. Again, Marg woke up and got up first at 7:15am, while I slept until 7:45am when I eventually got up just before 8:15am. We buggered about at camp until we left at 9:45am. First stop was Spotlight as Marg needed more wool, different to her Reject Shop wool, she has 2 jobs on the go at once. Success, she got her wool. Next stop was at Kawana Waters Shoppingworld, on Sundays it opens at 10:30am, we arrived at 10:25am, found a parking spot and walked into Donut King, ordered coffee and donuts, sat and read the Herald Sun on our iPads. Then wandered into the Reject Shop in a faint hope that they made have the 'chunky' wool, they didn't BUT at least we now have confirmed the batch numbers of the wool Marg needs. Tomorrow, Marg will ring The Reject Shop HQ and take it from there. We did some food shopping at Woollies and then headed back to camp.

As we arrived back at camp, the clouds had parted and the sun came out, SO I decided to go for a ride. We had lunch first, then I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 1:06pm and headed North towards Mooloolaba. It was warm (around 22°), so I didn't wear my jacket, but put it in my pack rack. There was a beautiful tailwind pushing me to the Lighthouse. When I got there, I admired the scenery and took some photos, then rolled down the Hill to the 'Spit', where I took some photos of the surf and the surfers. I had 16kms of headwind back to camp, SO I rode along the shared paths wherever possible, because it is in amongst the trees and breaks the headwind. As I approached Currimundi Lake, George was there to welcome me. He has been there on the 1st and 5th rides but as I tried to photograph him, he flew away. As I was riding past Coco's Beach cafe at the beach end of Currimundi Lake, I stopped for a coffee, I was the only customer there, apart from Ian (the Ibis). I arrived back at camp at 3:23pm after 33.0kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 33kms gives me a total of 489kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 9th ride at Dicky for a total of 368kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,688kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

When I arrived back at camp, Marg was laying in bed, reading but shortly after I noticed that she was in 'nanna nap land', while I buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was Marg's egg and bacon pie. It was yumma.

Tomorrow we could be back walking along the beach and riding, the weather is on the improve.

8:19am - I walked down to the beach this morning, when it was still blowing. The sound of the waves was very loud.

8:19am - It was quite rough.

8:19am - Not many beach goers this morning.

8;20am - Today's beach report.

1:13pm - At Coondibah Creek.

1:57pm - Today's weather photo from the Lighthouse.

1:58pm - Looking towards Alexandra Headland.

2:06pm - Point Break was still working.

2:47pm - George across the Lake.

2:52pm - When I got to him, he was still there.

3:06pm - Even Ian made a guest appearance.

3:13pm - Tides out at Currimundi Lake.

3:18pm - See how bright the sun is. Beautiful.

Day 101 - Monday 18th July 2016.

Riding and Relaxing at Dicky - Dicky Day 12.

Overnight, you could have counted the rain drops on the roof (15 I did count them).
We both slept well. Again, Marg woke up and got up first at 7:00am, while I slept until 7:30am when I eventually got up just before 8:00am. While we buggered about at camp, I suggested that we visit Strawberry Fields, but Marg said 'No, not until it is sunny'. We are 'hanging out' for the strawberry pancakes then again I usually buy a kilo of fresh BIG beautiful strawberries which usually are eaten within 2 days.
While I was emptying the garbage, I noticed the 'Prawn Man' had stopped out the front of our site, so we bought a kilo of tiger prawns for $25 for dinner tonight. Back on the laptop, I noticed that Anaconda have a special on cycling clothes, I need another pair of lycra knicks and they have some on special reduced from $40 to $24, SO I told Marg that we are off to Anaconda. While out, we visited Kawana Waters Shoppingworld for a coffee, Marg needed to visit Big W and a few other shops.
We eventually arrived back at 12:05pm, we had lunch, then I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 12:58pm and headed North towards Mooloolaba. It was 23° when I left camp, so I didn't wear my jacket, but put it in my pack rack. There was a beautiful tailwind pushing me to the Lighthouse. When I got there, I got swooped by my feathered birdie friend (Maggie). I felt a thud on my helmet and saw a shadow flying away.

Next was my major decision of the day. Do I turn around and ride my 14km circuit returning back to this spot or do I just continue the 100meters upto the Lighthouse. This is the sort of pressure that I am under. It is so stressful being retired. Anyway, enough of this shit, I rode the extra 14kms and returned to the Lighthouse. As I was taking my daily weather photo at the Lighthouse, I was 'photobombed' by a young boy. Actually, he was just standing there as I took the photo, BUT he could have. I could not be bothered riding down and up the Hill to the 'Spit', SO I didn't BUT I saw a bush turkey who I stalked and got a photo. Then I took my time and had an enjoyable ride (I have my radio on and sing away to the old songs, pity anyone in earshot) into a slight headwind back to camp. As I approached Coco's Beach cafe, I thought a coffee would go down well, I stopped, it was closed. I checked the times, it opens at 7am and closes at 3pm. I was 15 minutes too late. I arrived back at camp at 3:20pm after 45.7kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 46kms gives me a total of 535kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 10th ride at Dicky for a total of 414kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,734kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

My 'friendly feathered birdie strikes' stats: Today's 'attack' brings it to a total of 3 'attacks' since 7th July at Point Cartridge Lighthouse. My 'friendly feathered birdie' lives in one of the tall pine trees that are near the Lighthouse carpark. He sit up in his tree and waits for me to pedal slowly up the steep road to the Lighthouse carpark then he strikes. The strike is very harmless to me. So far.

When I arrived back at camp, Marg was laying in bed, in full on 'nanna nap' mode. Dead to the world. I showered then buggered about on my laptop.

Dinner was Marg's WORLD FAMOUS prawn cocktail. It was absolutely yumma.

Tomorrow we hope to visit Strawberry Fields

Day 102 - Tuesday 19th July 2016.

Visited Strawberry Fields - Dicky Day 13.

We both slept well. Again, Marg woke up and got up first at 6:30am, while I slept until 6:45am when I eventually got up just before 7:00am. As it was sunny, I suggested that we go to Strawberry Fields mid morning BUT Marg said she wanted to go at lunchtime and ORDERED me to go riding. To keep harmony in camp, I obeyed her without question.

I had brekky then I changed into 'cycleman' and left camp at 7:44am and headed North towards Mooloolaba. I rode my normal BIG route today. I took my good camera with me, so I could take panoramic photos. My feathered birdie friend didn't make an appearance this morning, SO I stopped and photographed his home, but he still didn't appear. Maybe tomorrow he will 'attack' me. I arrived back at camp at 10:38am after 46.5kms.

My riding stats: Today's ride of 47kms gives me a total of 582kms for July and 681kms for June and 369kms for May and my 11th ride at Dicky for a total of 461kms OR if you are really into figures, I have ridden 1,781kms since leaving home back on 9th April.

When I arrived back at camp, I showered and after we got ourselves organised, we left about 11:30am and drove to Strawberry Fields , parked the mighty Navara and walked over to the Cafe. We ordered pancakes with fresh strawberries, coffee and I had their strawberry ice cream which was 3 scoops. All food was very YUMMA. As we were leaving, we walked into their shop and I bought a kilo of 'premium' strawberries for $16(as I am writing this I have nearly eaten the lot and they are extremely YUMMA).
We left about 12:40pm and headed back to camp.

Before Marg had a nanna nap, we went for a walk along the beach upto the 'dog off leash' area. It was a magnificent day for a beach walk. Upon our return to camp, Marg had a nanna nap and within 30 minutes, I had joined her. I slept for over an hour while Marg managed a tad longer.

Dinner was a scratch meal, I 'pigged out' on strawberries, while Marg had cheese and bikkies.

Tomorrow we are going to 'free' Bingo at Club Central. Don't know what this is about but will find out.

7:55am - At Coondibah Creek.

9:38am - At the Spit looking towards the Lighthouse.

Picking your own.

Being colourblind makes it hard to pick Straws.

Panoramic view of some of Strawberry Fields.

The bridge at Coondibah Creek.

Who dat? Marg, of course.

The Coral Sea was busy today.

Another stunning view. That's why we love our beach walks.

Our view while sitting on the rocks.

SS Dicky is rising from the beach.

The council buried it last July under 2 meters of sand.
